I’m Jacquelyn. I am a graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology. I graduated in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biomedical Photographic Communications and minoring in Criminal Justice. I always had a passion for science and a drive for photography, and RIT gave me that perfect balance. During my time at RIT I also discovered my passion for forensic science.
Being a biomedical photography student traditionally meant that we were the “nerdy photographers” studying calculus and biology, however that was proven to be false when classes such as Forensic Photography and Surgical Photography were introduced into our curriculum. We now became the photographers “with guts and charisma”. As a student in both classes I learned to photograph anything ranging from gun shot residue to abdominal reconstruction in the Emergency Room.
During the summer of 2009, I interned with Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office and was later offered a position in the field of Autopsy Photography. I enjoyed my time working for the county, as I not only learned new things but also I was able to make a difference in my department by teaching my coworkers skills that I have acquired at RIT.
I aim for the best and never settle for satisfactory. Growing up, I was a very determined person in everything I conquered, as that may have helped in sports during high school, I still retain that same push for the best. I am willing to take on new things, and build my skills set in the forensics field. My goal essentially, is like everyone else in this world; have a job that has a good income. However, I want to love my job, and help people while doing it.
